Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccine
A booster dose is recommended every 10 years, as natural infection does NOT give lifelong protection.
It is extremely important for carers and household contacts (grandparents, family members, uncles, aunts) of infants to receive a booster, at least 2 weeks prior to contact with the infant.
Pregnant women are advised to have a whooping cough vaccine with each pregnancy from 20 weeks.
Close contacts of immunosuppressed people are advised to receive a booster dose, as are healthcare and childcare workers.
Please phone or email to arrange a vaccination time.
